The Crowley Public Library was established on April 1, 1989. It opened in 500 square feet of a building that was given to them by the City of Crowley. The Library opened with 2,500 donated books, and the help of several volunteers, and the Kuanis Club which donated money to purchase the first shelving. As the years passed and the Library grew it eventually took over the entire 2,500 square feet of the building that it now occupies. And the book inventory is 30,000 + books. The library is also computerized with card cataloging and internet access for patrons. 

    Construction of the New Library building  was finally completed in January 2004, and the new Library officially opened on Saturday the 28th of February 2004.
